Now available in Agworld: Field Groups and Activity Audit

Agworld's development team has been working hard at some exciting new features around grouping fields together and offering an activity audit trail. You'll find more information below, but if you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to me or your Agworld customer service representative.

Field Groups

Large farming enterprises, or 'Enterprise Growers' as we call them in Agworld, sometimes have unique requirements due to their data-driven nature and the scale at which they're operating, often managing tens of thousands of hectares across multiple aggregations.

One such requirement is to be able to group fields together so they can plan, manage, or report on groups of fields with shared treatment plans or logistical dependencies.

Examples of this can be managing different seed lots, irrigation zones, processor contracts, or simply managing the same application across many fields such as deep ripping, liming, spreading gypsum, etc.

Common Use Cases:
  • Split Fields by Variety or Seed Lot: Group sections of the same field managed separately for traceability or yield tracking.
  • Irrigation Zones: Differentiate between dryland and irrigated fields within a farm.
  • Spray Groups: Quickly select multiple fields that are sprayed with similar row spacing, bandwidths, tree-heights or more.
  • Processor Contract Management: Manage fields under the same buyer or program together (e.g., organic certification, regenerative pilot programs).
  • Field Trials & Monitoring Zones: Organise observation zones for easier filtering, tracking, and reporting.
Key Benefits:
  • Faster Activity Creation: Easily select groups of fields during activity writing, reducing manual field selection.
  • Consistency Across the Org: Field Groups are managed at the company level, enabling standardised group creation and use across large teams.
  • Improved Planning Workflows: Leverage Field Groups during crop planning to align recommendations and budgets across similar fields.
  • Enhanced Reporting: Field Groups are filterable in custom reports, making it easier to analyze performance and practices at the group level.
  • Field groups can be copied across to future seasons so you don't have to set new field groups up every season.

The Field Group feature is available for growers with a 'pro' or 'enterprise' subscription, and is not currently available for retail agronomists working across multiple clients. The groupings are managed at grower / company level within Agworld.

You can edit Field Groups by navigating to 'Company Details' and then 'Field Groups'. You can apply activities or a crop template plan to Field Groups on the Agworld website (desktop). I'm sure every Enterprise Grower in Agworld will love this new feature!

Run your own activity audits

In a collaborative environment like Agworld, knowing who edited an activity, and when, is key to maintaining trust and accuracy, especially when data impacts compliance or record-keeping.

Agworld's new Audit Trail feature brings greater transparency to activity records by showing the name and timestamp of the last editor directly within the activity view on the web app (not available on iOS). This simple view helps reduce confusion and minimizes the need to contact support for audit inquiries.

You'll find the audit information in the activity view, check the screenshot for a visual guide.

iOS Support: While the audit trail is not currently visible on iOS, any edits made on iOS are still tracked and will appear in the audit trail when viewed on the web. The system distinguishes whether the change was made on web or iOS.
